WELCOME TO THE MONTH OF AUGUST

WELCOME TO THE MONTH OF AUGUST

Words cannot express fully the miracle of being able to retire at nights and eventually rise from our subconsciousness to meet the brightness of every new day. How can we ever repay the Almighty God for this grace that we have each enjoyed all through our years of living? I think that what we can do is to testify of His goodness and strive harder to be on a par with His divine ways.

This time of our existence as a people is quite challenging; is it the sorrow that we have to bear for the precious lives we lose almost everyday to the persisting monsters of terrorism and gangsterism? Or is it the hardship that a lot of us have to constantly face due to the biting economic situations? Indeed, the degree of our pains, we cannot measure but because life remains in us, we must continue to look into the future with hope for better days that will surely come.

May the beauty that comes with this month of August not pass us by, may we find strength in each day of this 8th Month to constantly do His works and express unconditional love to friends and family.

God bless you.

Dumo Lulu-Briggs wins at the Supreme Court

Dumo Lulu-Briggs wins at the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court today, Thursday June 20, 2019 struck out an appeal brought before it by one Precious Baridoo against the 29/04/19 judgement of the Court of Appeal given in favour of Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs as the Rivers State governorship candidate of the Accord in the just concluded 2019 elections.

The case came up last Thursday June 13, 2019 at the apex court for the motion of abridgement of time and accelerated hearing which was granted and the counsel asked to come today the 20th instant to adopt their briefs and argue their cases.

When the case was called today, the lawyer to Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Wilcox A. Abereton SAN requested the court to ask Mr. Baridoo what he stands to benefit from the case, considering that he did not contest the primaries of the party and also did not contest the governorship election, having openly withdrawn and endorsed the then incumbent, Governor Nyesom Wike.

Wilcox Abereton SAN argued that Baridoo’s appeal was an abuse of court process and a waste of time of the court, saying that Mr. Baridoo has nothing to lose in the matter except to waste the time of the court.

When asked, the lawyer to Baridoo said they were in court just to set the records straight, an answer which drew the anger of the Supreme Court judges. They said the court is not here to settle intra-party matters but to determine who is the Rivers State Governorship candidate of Accord party and if the Court of Appeal has given its ruling what benefit would he (Baridoo) get if the Supreme Court rules in his favour, having not contested the election.

The Supreme Court judges said that the court is not created for academic exercises and advised Baridoo and his lawyer to go to the University of Abuja to pursue academics if they so desire because the Supreme Court is for serious business.

Baridoo was urged not to waste the time of the court and advised to withdraw the appeal otherwise they would enter judgement against him with costs of over N10million. At this point Baridoo’s lawyer quickly apologized to the court and withdrew the appeal. The Supreme Court therefore struck out the appeal.

Political watchers wonder why the sponsors of Mr. Precious Baridoo dragged this matter up to the Supreme Court, considering that the peace-loving Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs did not even file a petition against Gov. Nyesom Wike at the Rivers State Governorship Tribunal. The only reason they say, is that Governor Wike as a shrewd politician, is merely being proactive, in case he loses his election at the courts, he would want a re-run with political lightweights and not a man of Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs’ status.

A CALL FOR OUTRIGHT CANCELLATION OF THE ILL-FATED MARCH 9, 2019 GOVERNORSHIP AND STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN RIVERS STATE

DLB CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION

PRESS RELEASE

March 11, 2019

A CALL FOR OUTRIGHT CANCELLATION OF THE ILL-FATED MARCH 9, 2019 GOVERNORSHIP AND STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN RIVERS STATE

The suspension of all election processes in Rivers State as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC must have come to most well-meaning citizens and residents as a relief, considering the widespread outcry and condemnation of the conduct of the March 9, Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections in the state.

We commend INEC for the promptness in taking this decision at the time it did given the unfolding ugly situation in Rivers State which was heating up an already volatile political atmosphere. The March 9, elections in the state had not only recorded widespread incidents of disruptions of the electoral processes but has recorded the harassment and intimidation of voters and loss of lives of civilians and security personnel.

INECs action truncated the activities of bloodthirsty politicians who were already threatening more violence and bloodshed. The suspension of the electoral processes was a disappointment to the agents of destruction who were already threatening mayhem had INEC not stepped in.

From the events that characterized the March 9, 2019 Governorship and Assembly Elections, there is no doubt that INEC did the right and appropriate thing by suspending the electoral processes in Rivers State. This has restored faith and confidence in a process that was marred by violence, thuggery and militarization of the entire process.

Based on graphic and detailed reports from our agents across Rivers State, we state as follows that:

1. Thugs and cultists, some of them armed with lethal weapons, said to be acting in the interest of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP invaded several voting units, intimidating voters, carting away electoral materials, harassing INEC staff and generating fake results in areas under their forceful control.

2. In the same manner, alleged influential supporters and thugs of a hitherto obscure party, the African Action Congress AAC, unleashed terror on the state with the supposed backing of state security agencies. The AAC gang also invaded several voting units under their control, intimidating voters, carting away electoral materials, harassing INEC staff and generating their own version of election results.

3. The Rivers State electorate was on March 9, said to be caught between the armed thugs/cultists of the PDP and the state security agencies supporting the AAC.

4. Media houses are awash with bizarre stories of abducted, intimidated, harassed INEC staff, held hostage in covert locations and compelled at gun-point to announce results of phantom elections, which in the words of the INEC staff were not true reflections of what transpired at the polling units and collation centers, but results already computed and tabulated by their captors and abductors.

5. The persons who perpetrated these wanton destructions of electoral materials, harassment and abduction of electoral officers, disruptions of the electoral process and hijacking of already completed ballots with the intent to mutilate and falsify the results from such areas, acted with audacity, impunity and operated freely in subverting the electoral process and the law of the land.

6. The overwhelming presence of the military apparently to check the activities of armed youths and forestall the subversion of the electoral process, created a tensed atmosphere which scared away and discouraged voters and accounted for very low turnout during the elections.

Against the backdrop of the these severe discrepancies, which are clear contraventions of the Electoral Law 2010 (as amended) and the regulation and guidelines for the conduct of elections 2019, we hereby demand the following:

1. The outright cancellation of the March 9, 2019 Rivers state Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections in Rivers State and rescheduling of the elections within the stipulated timeframe of the Electoral Law.

2. The redeployment from the state of all critical staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC who participated and were involved in the March 9 election in Rivers State because of the general trauma they have suffered from their harassment, abduction and intimidation.

3. The arrest and prosecution of persons, no matter how highly placed, who were responsible for these electoral frauds that have put Rivers State into disrepute and embarrassed the country.

4. We call on patriotic Rivers people to stand up and save the state from the machinations of bloodthirsty politicians and avert the impending gloom and bloodbath which hovers over Rivers state.

DUMO LULU-BRIGGS REMAINS ACCORD GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE DESPITE HIGH COURT JUDGEMENT

DUMO LULU-BRIGGS REMAINS ACCORD GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE DESPITE HIGH COURT JUDGEMENT

DLB CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION

PRESS RELEASE

February 28, 2019

Dumo Lulu-Briggs remains Accord Governorship Candidate despite High Court Judgement

The Dumo Lulu-Briggs Campaign Organization has received the news of the judgement of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt concerning the identity of the authentic governorship candidate of Accord in Rivers State; and states as follows that:

1. The matter before the court was not about the Rivers State Accord eligibility to be on the ballot for the 2019 governorship election but about who is the legitimate governorship candidate. The Rivers State Accord therefore remains on the ballot.

2. The judgement delivered by Justice E.A. Obile of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt did not come to us as a surprise because the learned trial judge did not hide his bias throughout the duration of the hearing, which led to the early request for his lordship to recuse himself and the subsequent withdrawal of Wilcox Abereton SAN, counsel to Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, when his lordship decided to continue with the case.

3. A petition has since been written to the National Judicial Council against the trial judge on the matter. The entire judgement has no legal standing because the defendants in the case were not given the opportunity for fair hearing and were not given the opportunity to replace their counsel who withdrew from the case.

4. The Dumo Lulu-Briggs campaign organization is not unaware of the shenanigan and evil machinations of governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Governor Nyesom Wike, to use the courts, which has been severally described as “Wike’s Supermarket” to knock out strong contenders in the governorship race.

5. Nyesom Wike’s connection in this dubious act is buttressed by the fact that Mr. Precious Baridoo’s counsel Wori N. Wori Esq is from the law firm of E.C. Aguma SAN, the deceased immediate past Attorney General to Nyesom Wike. Furthermore, Mr. Precious Baridoo got ‘elected’ as Rivers IPAC Chairman months after his purported nomination as Accord governorship candidate, a position known to be occupied only by the cronies of the governor.

6. Recently, during the PDP Presidential rally in Port Harcourt, Precious Baridoo did not only declare support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, he led 56 so-called governorship candidates to step down for Governor Wike and endorsed him for a second term. The said Precious Baridoo, who has since been disowned by the Accord National Working Committee, was appointed into the Caretaker Committee of Khana Local Government Area by the Wike-led PDP government.

7. Our faith in the Nigerian Judiciary cannot be diminished by the obvious miscarriages of a few. We are focused and ready to not just vacate this scandalous judgement but obtaining the mandate which Rivers people are eager to offer Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs.

8. Our legal team has filed an appeal and a stay of execution and so Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs remains the governorship candidate of Accord in Rivers State.

9. The aim of the sponsors of this judicial miscalculation to stop Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and deny the Rivers electorate the much-needed quality governance that the Accord represents shall be disgraced at the end. We therefore call on all our supporters and the good people of Rivers State to remain resolute and focused.

10. The members and supporters of Rivers Accord should go about their lawful businesses assured that light always triumphs over darkness.

RE: POSTPONEMENT OF THE GENERAL ELECTIONS BY INEC

RE: POSTPONEMENT OF THE GENERAL ELECTIONS BY INEC

THE DUMO LULU BRIGGS GOVERNORSHIP CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION

PRESS RELEASE

Saturday February 16th, 2019

The Governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs has reacted to the sudden rescheduling of the General Elections only a few hours before the processes commenced. Chief Lulu-Briggs expressed concern that the suddenness of the decision must have caught all stakeholders by surprise but encouraged Nigerians and the international community to maintain faith in the process.

According to Lulu-Briggs, INEC is managed by eminent Nigerians who should take decisions in the interest of the nation. We should therefore give them the benefit of the doubt and patiently wait for the next scheduled date. It is better to do it later and get it right than rush into an election that may have credibility issues. We must as a people bear the sacrifices that would help us get things better.

In his statement Chief Lulu Briggs, said “Yes, the rescheduling has cost us enormous economic, social and psychological resources as a nation, political parties, politicians and even citizens. However, no price should be too much for us to pay for quality outcomes and for the general good of our dear country. Let us therefore exercise more patience and go out to perform our civic duty on the new date for the good of Rivers State and Nigeria.”

God bless Rivers State and Nigeria.

WHAT FELIX OBUAH FEARS ABOUT DUMO LuLULU-BRIGGS

WHAT FELIX OBUAH FEARS ABOUT DUMO LuLULU-BRIGGS

5b Ndoni Street, GRA Port Harcourt

PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, 13 February 2019

What Felix Obuah fears about Dumo Lulu Briggs

Again one is inclined to respond to the absolutely baseless statement by the soon to be retired politician and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Mr. Felix Obuah, and released by his multi-purpose aide, Jerry Nedaam.

This time the PDP chairman is spreading falsehood to the effect that the Accord in Rivers State is not campaigning. Even when the statement is untrue and all know it so, sane minds would shudder that a party chairman worthy of his office would bother himself about the political activities of a rival party. As politicians we understand the worries of Mr. Obuah. We sympathize with him because his promise to his boss that he would stop Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs from the governorship election on Saturday March 2nd has failed.

The fear of Felix Obuah and his principal is that the Accord governorship candidate, Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs will defeat the PDP candidate clear and square. Mr. Obuah is aware that the Accord revolution is massive, sweeping across not just the Orashi region, where hundreds of PDP members are joining the Accord.

As Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs would say, “When they go low, we go higher.” The PDP should focus on their crowd renting campaigns while we reach our people and let’s meet at the polls on March 2nd.

Dason Nemieboka
Publicity Secretary.
